Quick N.Y.C. Haul

I went to the drugstore the other day for a birthday card and of course I had to leave with some cosmetics. Usually I'm not a big fan of N.Y.C cosmetics but I was pleasantly surprised when I glanced in their direction. They have revamped their line and now it looks more professional. They are like super cheap (I'm talking dirt cheap!) and I picked up a few items that I'm really happy with.
Here is what I bought:
From top (all from the N.Y.C. line):
Eye 2 Eye Color & Contour Shadows in Ink
In a New York Color Minute Quick Dry Nail Polish in Chinatown
Color Wheel Mosaic Bronzing Powder in Island Spice

I really needed a brow highlighter because all the whites I have at home seem to be dull. This pearly white is really pigmented so it deposits a lot of color. The black contour shadow is your basic black with a hint of shimmer, so it blends easily. I really love this duo because it's small and compact and easy to travel with. Plus it was a dollar! Can't beat that!

I am obsessed with the Quick Dry Nail Polish in Chinatown! I had been looking around for a dark purple almost black color and this is it!! I recently bought a nail polish from Forever21 called Black/Silver which looked really nice in the bottle but then when I put it on, it was almost matte. It had no shine to it. Then I found this one! It's exactly the color I was looking for! It's great for fall!! The picture doesn't really give the color any justice because it looks almost black here because of the flash. In reality the color is a really, really dark purple.
LOVE IT!!

The bronzer is a little overwhelming to wear alone since it is a darker shade (for me anyways) but it's really nice to wear over your every day bronzer or foundation. If you lightly dust your face with a round powder brush, then it gives a subtle warm glow that reminds me of a summer tan!
I spent a total of $4.50 for these three items which is totally worth my trip to the drugstore! Do you have any other N.Y.C. products that are some of your faves that I should take a look at?

Hugs and Kisses!

This is just a quick post about Kandee Johnson. I don't know her personally but her blog and youtube videos are so much fun, and literally put a smile on my face everytime I read and watch them. She is so talented with what she does with makeup, and really is the inspiration for me to have gotten this blog started with her Go Get Your Dreams video. Her uplifting attitude and positive outlook on life is amazing!

Who can afford Jimmy Choo? You!!

Jimmy Choo has decided to widen it's audience by creating a collection to be sold at H&M stores!! This fall the collection, which includes men's and women's clothes, shoes, bags, and accessories, will make it's debut. The line offers designer material at affordable prices. It includes leather, fur and suede. I'm personally excited for their stilettos! Below are some pictures that have leaked from the collection that will be in 200 stores around the world beginning November 14th. I'm not sure if any of the H&M stores by me will carry the line but I will definately be on the look out for it. Let me know if there is one coming to a store near you and what you think of the collection!

What do you think so far? I think every piece looks unbelievable! I am uber excited!

Sorry...

Hey guys! Sorry I haven't been posting this week. I've been spending all my time studying for this major exam I need to pass for my masters. It's tomorrow (yea on Halloween, ugh!). I will definately be putting up some new stuff up after the exam tomorrow though, so be on the look out. I definately want to do something Halloween related. Anyways, just wanted to update you as to why I haven't been around. Wish me luck!!

Love,
Monica

DROID...wanting it!

I have absolutely no idea what Verizon's new Droid is about, but after seeing it's contagious commercial, I want it. I don't know what it is, but I want it!

Here's the commercial, if you've been living under a rock for the past month and haven't seen it yet:

I haven't heard much about it except that Verizon will introduce whatever this Droid thing is on October 28, 2009. So in three days, we should know something. Also, there hasn't been much talk about when it will go on sale, but it looks like November 6th looks promising. Let's hope that this is the long awaited version of the iPhone for Verizon, but way better!

My phone contract is up, so I am IMpatiently waiting for something great to come out. I'll keep you posted...

Juicy boots are oh so cute!

Since the weather has been so disgusting lately, I guess it's finally time to start looking for some cozy winter boots.

For $425, these Juicy Couture quilted boots definately are a little (okay, a lot) on the pricey side, but they are so adorable that they are almost worth the splurge!

Toasty toes make everyone happy! Peace out cub scouts! ♥

L'Oreal's New Mascara...Goodbye Fake Eyelashes!

I've tried many mascaras in my lifetime and when I say many, what I really mean is a ba-jillion! It's actually kind of gross how many of them I've owned. However, there hasn't been anything out there that has really amazed me until I met L'Oreal's Double Extend Beauty Tubes. We have been the best of friends ever since that momentous day at the drugstore! Seriously though, I have tried brands from high end department stores, to Sephora's line, to Bobbi Brown's line, and to countless other ridiculously expensive mascara's and I still always end up loving the one I got at the drugstore much better.

My eyelashes are so straight that you could seriously hurt somebody with them. Not only are they super short, but they have absolutely no curve to them...so I need all the help I can get!

L'Oreal's Double Extend Beauty Tubes in Blackest Black does the work of fake eyelashes without the messy glue and tedious work. This product actually does what it says. Go figure.

All you need is one coat of the primer and two coats of the mascara, and miraculously, your lashes have doubled in size right before your eyes! No pun intended!

And although it may seem like it, you don't even need a hardcore makeup remover at the end of the day to take it all off. All you need is water! Just moisten your lashes under the shower head or in the sink and the lash caps that have formed over your eyelashes just easily slide off. I'm not kidding, no rubbing required!

For those of you with obnoxiously short eyelashes like mine, definately try this out. Trust me, you'll end up throwing all the other mascaras you own out, and fall  madly in love with Double Extend Beauty Tubes. It's AMAZING!!

Cottage cheese anyone?

Who doesn't love Soap & Glory products?! They're fun, cheap, and work great! Just the vintage labels alone make you want to buy their products! Here is the newest one by them: Soap & Glory Slimwear Body Cream

Compared to other big name brands like Channel and Bliss, customers said this worked the best. With the peptides working as soon as you smooth it on dimpled areas, you will notice results the same day!

You can find it at Target for $11.00 which is way cheaper than the other brands and works much better! Click on the picture to take you straight there, or visit http://www.soapandglorycosmetics.com/ for all their other amazing products!

Here's to a happy Wednesday and a smooth derriere!
